Hailey Kean is a Toronto based artist who has been interested in Photography and Film since she was a young child. At the age of 4, her favorite thing to do was to unravel old film reels of her family home movies and play in the cascading frames. She bought her first camera the age of 6 and has been taking pictures ever since. Hailey attended Rosedale Heights School of the Arts where she learned the art and science of the dark room and experimented with light. Her post-secondary education took her to Humber College where she studied Film and Television Production, which allowed Hailey to expand her art from still images to the world of motion pictures.

She has since traveled to over 25 countries around the world in search of captivating images and prefers to use only available or motivated light. In 2016 Hailey was accepted into an artist residency with Taller Milans in Barcelona, Spain where she expanded her knowledge of film processing and creative imagery. Note-worthy work includes pictures for Nuite Blanche in 2010-2015,  Toronto Fringe Festival 2012, Scotiabank CONTACT Photography festival 2014 and recent database license from National Geographic.
